Rotherfield Village Pre-School has been an integral part of the village since 1960. In 2011 we moved into a purpose-built premises next to the recreation ground which was funded by Rotherfield Parish Council and National Lottery Grant Funding. 

 Our outside space is an inviting and diverse area, creating a further learning environment for our children. We provide a free flow approach for the majority of the day as children can develop what they have learnt inside, to outside. We have a water wall, music wall, mud kitchen, sand pit and also designated areas with tuff trays.

 Our pre school children have an outdoor growing garden that allows them to extend their learning beyond the inside environment. They have access to a variety of plants and vegetables to grow. This helps build on their knowledge of caring for their environment and also helps with their wellbeing.

 We are fortunate to have a hidden woodland which we use for outdoor learning. The children have the opportunity to be wild and free for the session and explore the environment in a different way to how they would in a more traditional pre-school setting. 

Rotherfield Scout Hall is next to our building and we have use of the hall for our external clubs, group circuits, team games, and fundraising events.

Our building looks out across farming land and open spaces. We have use of the fields directly next to our building, growing garden and hidden woodland. 

In the summer months we use this space to enjoy picnic lunches and play. 

 Just across from our setting we are fortunate to have the Rotherfield Recreation ground which includes a play park. The children have the opportunity to let off further steam, climb, swing and bounce with their friends in a more relaxed environment. 

We are located in the heart of Rotherfield Village. This means we have access to some amazing community resources. You might find us exploring the village on one of our walks, having a snack on the church grounds, or visiting the pigs next to the Apple Orchard.
